Two wealthy ladies shared a taxi and complained about the high cost of fares.
"Taxis are terribly expensive these days," said one. "The owners make a fortune for doing nothing."
"Indeed," agreed the other. "And the drivers receive such large tips that they quickly become rich. They should be ashamed of themselves."
One of the ladies was smoking a cigarette. After a moment, she asked, "Can you see an ashtray? There isn't one on my side."
"No," replied her companion, "there isn't one here either. Driver! Where is the ashtray in this taxi? Why don't you have one?"
The driver, who had heard their entire conversation, answered, "Oh, just drop the ashes on the carpet. I have a servant who comes to clean three days a week!"
