The Goat and the Vine |

English Original

A goat, straying in a vineyard, began to browse on the tender shoots of a vine laden with fine grapes.

"What have I done to you," said the vine, "that you harm me so? Is there not enough grass for you to feed on? Nevertheless, even if you eat every leaf and leave me bare, I shall still produce enough wine to pour over you when you are led to the altar for sacrifice."
