English Original
In the Spring and Autumn Period, there lived in the state of Chu a man named Chu Zhuliang, who called himself "Lord Ye."
Lord Ye was famously fond of dragons. He had them painted on his walls and carved into the beams, pillars, doors, and windows of his house. His passion for dragons became widely known.
When the real dragon in heaven heard about Lord Ye, it was deeply touched and decided to visit him to express its gratitude.
One might expect Lord Ye to be overjoyed at the sight of a real dragon. However, upon actually seeing the magnificent creature, he was terrified out of his wits and fled as fast as he could.
From then on, everyone understood that Lord Ye only loved pictures and carvings of dragons, not the real thing.
