English Original
A man complained to his friend, "I'm constantly bothered by time-wasting visitors."
"Why not try my method?" his friend suggested.
"What is it?" the man asked.
"When the doorbell rings," the friend explained, "I put on my hat and gloves before answering. If it's someone I don't wish to see, I simply say, 'So sorry, but I was just on my way out!'
"And if it's someone you do want to see?" the man inquired.
"Oh, then I say," his friend replied with a smile, "'How fortunate! I've just come in.'"
