English Original
A woman who died found herself standing outside the Pearly Gates, greeted by St. Peter.
She asked, "Is this really heaven? Did I make it?"
"Yes," St. Peter replied, "but you must do one more thing before you enter."
Excited, she asked what it was.
"Spell a word," he said. "Any word."
"Love," she promptly replied. "L-o-v-e."
St. Peter congratulated her and asked if she would mind watching the gates while he stepped away briefly.
"I'd be honored," she said. "What should I do if someone comes?"
"Just have them spell a word, as you did," he reassured her.
As she sat in his chair, a man approached. It was her husband.
"What happened? Why are you here?" she cried.
He stared, then said, "I was drunk leaving your funeral, got into an accident. Am I in heaven?"
"Not yet," she replied. "You must spell a word first."
"What word?" he asked.
The woman responded, "Czechoslovakia."
