A young man was shopping in a supermarket when he noticed an elderly lady following him.
"Pardon me," she said. "I'm sorry if my staring has made you uncomfortable. You look just like my son, who passed away recently."
"I'm very sorry to hear that," replied the young man. "Is there anything I can do for you?"
"Yes," she replied. "As I leave, would you say 'Goodbye, Mother'? It would mean a lot to me."
"Of course," he answered.
As the woman walked away, he called out, "Goodbye, Mother!"
He then proceeded to the checkout counter, only to find his bill totaled $127. "How can that be?" he exclaimed. "I only bought a few items!"
The clerk replied, "Your mother said you'd pay for her groceries."
