Uproar in the Loyalty Hall |

English Original

One day, two Liangshan heroes, Li Kui and Yan Qing, stayed overnight in Jingmen Town near the Liangshan Marsh. At a local manor, the squire accused Song Jiang, the leader of Liangshan, of kidnapping his daughter. Enraged and ignoring Yan Qing's doubts, Li Kui rushed back to Liangshan.

He stormed into the Loyalty Hall, seized his axes, and cut down the apricot-yellow banner inscribed with "Act in Heaven's Behalf," tearing it to shreds. He then charged at Song Jiang. The commanders present restrained him and demanded an explanation. After hearing Li Kui's story, Song Jiang vehemently denied the accusation.

To prove his innocence, Song Jiang suggested Li Kui search his quarters, but Li Kui refused, believing everyone in the fortress was under Song Jiang's command. Finally, Song Jiang proposed, "The squire is still alive. Let's go and confront him."

At the manor, the truth was revealed: impostors had committed the crime in Song Jiang's name. Filled with regret for his rash actions, Li Kui carried a thorned stick on his bare back and begged Song Jiang to punish him. Song Jiang forgave him on one condition: "Capture the two impersonators and bring the girl home safely."

After much effort, Li Kui tracked down the culprits, Wang Jiang and Dong Hai. He killed them and rescued the squire's daughter.
