One morning, a man was sitting quietly, reading his newspaper and enjoying a peaceful moment. Suddenly, his wife sneaked up behind him and whacked him on the back of the head with a large frying pan.
MAN: "What was that for?"
WIFE: "What's this piece of paper in your pants pocket with the name 'Barbara Ann' written on it?"
MAN: "Oh, honey, remember two weeks ago when I went to the horse races? Barbara Ann was the name of one of the horses I bet on."
The wife looked satisfied, apologized, and went back to her housework.
Three days later, the man was again sitting in his chair reading when his wife repeated the frying pan attack.
MAN: "What the heck was that for this time?"
WIFE: "Your horse called."
