English Original
An editor posted a sign above his desk that read, "Accuracy! Accuracy! Accuracy!" He always pointed it out to new reporters.
One day, a young reporter submitted his coverage of a public meeting. While reading it, the editor noticed the sentence: "Three thousand nine hundred and ninety-nine eyes were fixed upon the speaker."
"What do you mean by making such a stupid mistake?" the editor demanded angrily.
The reporter protested, "But it's not a mistake. There was a one-eyed man in the audience."
