English Original
A wine merchant in the state of Song had excellent wine, fair prices, and a kind demeanor. Yet, very few customers visited his shop.
Over time, his unsold wine turned sour. Worried, the merchant sought advice from a respected elder named Yang Qian.
Yang Qian told him, "Your dog is too fierce. People are afraid of being bitten, so they dare not come to buy your wine. That is why your wine remains unsold and turns sour."
