The First-Day Holdup |

English Original

Monday was Nick's first day at the National Trust Bank. He wanted to make a good impression.

When he arrived, everyone was busy. No one even looked up. He took his spot at counter three and began serving clients.

The morning went smoothly until about 11 a.m., when two men approached his counter. One grabbed his new tie. The other pointed a gun at him. "This is a holdup. Give us the money," one said.

Nick was terrified. "It's my first day. I don't know where the safe is," he said.

"Don't lie. Get the money or we'll shoot you."

Nick had to think fast. "Okay, it's down here. Hold on."

He pretended to reach under his desk. Instead, he dropped to the ground, slid underneath, and grabbed both men's legs. He tackled them, and they fell. The police were called, and Nick saved the day!
