Xi Shi, a renowned beauty, suffered a pain in her chest and would often frown when she went out. An unattractive girl living nearby saw her and thought Xi Shi looked exceptionally beautiful in that pose. Upon returning home, the girl imitated her by clutching her own chest and frowning.
When a wealthy man in the neighborhood saw the girl, he quickly shut his doors and stayed inside. When a poor man saw her, he immediately took his wife and children and kept a wide berth.
The girl only knew that Xi Shi's frown appeared beautiful, but she failed to understand why it was so.
