English Original
In the wild wood lived a fierce wild pig.
Other animals lived there too — ponies, deer, and squirrels. The ponies and deer liked the grass under the oak trees, and the squirrels liked the acorns. But the wild pig drove them all away, refusing to share. He was so fierce that the other animals eventually left the forest.
After a while, the wild pig set off to find them. He left the wood and went down a lane. Soon, he saw a bull in a field. Pushing through the hedge, the pig entered the field. He snorted, stamped, and cried, "I am the wild pig! I live in the forest!"
"I am the wild bull, and I live in this field!" roared the bull. Lowering his head, he tossed the pig back into the lane.
The sad pig went on until he came to a pond where some geese were resting. "I am the wild pig—" he began, but got no further. The geese stretched their necks, flapped their wings, and hissed, driving him away from the pond.
"Oh dear!" he thought. "What nasty creatures." Turning around, he went back to the wood, no longer a fierce pig.
The birds and animals soon returned when they saw the pig had learned his lesson. Now they all live happily together.
