Once upon a time, there was a little girl named Jenny who lived on a farm with her family. She loved playing with the farm animals—cows, chickens, and pigs. Jenny also had an older brother named Jason, but he preferred playing with his own friends and would bike to neighboring farms.
Jenny couldn't wait to start school, hoping to make friends with other girls on the bus. When she turned five, she finally began school but struggled to find common ground with her classmates. Thankfully, her loving parents always tucked her in at bedtime and gave her a goodnight kiss, assuring her she'd soon find shared interests.
One day, Jenny came home from school unusually happy and excited. She told her parents she had finally found something in common with the girls on the bus: she had a boyfriend. Concerned, her parents asked her what she meant. Jenny explained that she'd heard other girls talk about boyfriends, and her teacher, Mrs. Smith, had said a boyfriend was "a boy who kisses you."
"So I told them I already have a boyfriend," Jenny said proudly. "Now they're all jealous and want to be my friend!"
Her worried parents asked who this boyfriend was. "Why, it's Daddy!" Jenny replied. "He kisses me goodnight, so he's my boyfriend. And come to think of it, Mommy kisses me goodnight too, so I guess that makes you my girlfriend. Wait until the girls on the bus hear I have both a boyfriend and a girlfriend!"
