Sammy prayed for two weeks, asking God for $100. Receiving no response, he decided to write a letter addressed to "God, Los Angeles."
The post office forwarded the letter to the mayor. Finding it charming, the mayor instructed his secretary to send Sammy $10, assuming the boy would be thrilled.
Overjoyed, Sammy immediately wrote a thank-you note: "Dear God, thank you for the money. I thought you should know: when you sent it through City Hall, the government deducted $90."
