The Strange Sounds, Legs, and Girl |

English Original

This all started about two years ago when my family moved into our new house.

At first, everything was normal. We were still building the house, and some workers and relatives came to help. However, there was a small room under the house. For some odd reason, I felt sick every time I went down there. The smell was truly horrible—indescribably disgusting.

After everyone left, my mom mentioned that some rooms still needed painting. I asked if we could camp in the new house instead of returning to our small apartment. She thought it was a great idea, even though the house had no electricity yet.

I got sick again when I went back to that room. Notably, I was the only one who felt ill there and the only one who could smell the foul odor.

There was a small crack in the bricks on the other side of the room. One night, my brother put a twenty-dollar bill in that crack. He said I could have the money if I went to the other side of the room. Like any teenager, I agreed.

I entered the room at 10:30 PM. The smell was gone, but this time, it wasn't the odor that bothered me—it was a feeling. An eerie sensation that someone was watching me, even though my brother wasn't there.

When I was halfway across the room, I heard a voice too deep to be my brother's. It said angrily, "You do not belong here on this land! GET OUT!" Terrified, I ran out of the room, screaming at the top of my lungs. Of course, no one believed my story.

That wasn't the end. About three months later, the house was finished and had electricity. My mom was washing dishes in the kitchen. Behind her were the stairs leading to my brother's room. I was about to ask her if I could visit a friend when something made me freeze. A pair of legs was slowly walking up the stairs. This was weird because only my mom and I were home that day.

One of the freakiest incidents made me avoid my own bed for a week. One night, as I lay in bed with my little sister sleeping beside me and my older brother on the floor, the TV in my room suddenly turned on by itself. Strangely, my brother, a light sleeper, didn't wake up. I closed my eyes, trying to sleep again. But about two minutes later, one side of my bed started lifting by itself! I peeked at my sister—she was still asleep. Then I opened my other eye and saw something that made me lose my voice. On the other side of the bed stood a girl in a crimson red dress, smiling at me. The dress was covered in burn marks. She let out an echoing giggle, then ran away, trampling over my brother's back. The next morning, he complained that his back was killing him.

The last horrific event happened just a few weeks ago. A friend was over, and we were alone in the house. He said he was terribly thirsty, so I told him to get a drink from the kitchen. While he was there, I looked for something to prank him with. Suddenly, I heard him scream louder than ever before. I ran to the kitchen and found him on the floor, the drink spilled, his face pale as a ghost. When he finally spoke, he said he saw a pair of legs run past him—with no body attached—and simultaneously heard a voice whisper in his ear, "You do not belong here." We tried to forget it, but less than five minutes later, I looked out of my room and saw the girl in the red dress staring at me, smiling.

To this day, I don't know why these "spirits" are here tormenting me, and I have a feeling I never will.
