English Original
Kua Fu strove to chase the sun. Upon reaching the place where the sun set, unbearable thirst forced him to turn back. He came to the Yellow River and the Wei River.
In one breath, he quaffed all the water from both rivers. Yet, his thirst remained unquenched. He decided to seek a great lake in the north for a proper drink. On his journey northward, Kua Fu ultimately succumbed to thirst and died.
The walking stick he dropped was nurtured by the nourishment from his transformed body. It unexpectedly blossomed, bore fruit, and grew into a vast forest of peach trees stretching for thousands of miles.
