English Original
A ten-year-old Jewish boy was failing math. His parents tried everything from tutors to hypnosis, but to no avail. Finally, at the insistence of a family friend, they enrolled him in a private Catholic school.
After the first day, the boy returned home with a stern, focused expression. He went straight to his room and closed the door. For nearly two hours, he toiled away with math books strewn about. He emerged briefly to eat, then returned to work feverishly until bedtime.
This pattern continued until the first report card arrived. The boy placed the unopened envelope on the dinner table and went to his room. His mother opened it and was amazed to see a large red 'A' in Math.
Overjoyed, the parents rushed to their son's room. "Was it the nuns?" asked the father.
The boy shook his head.
"The tutoring? The teachers? The curriculum?"
"No," said the son. "On that first day, when I walked in and saw that guy nailed to the plus sign, I KNEW they meant business!"
