An old man living in the countryside gave his two sons very peculiar names. He named his elder son "Thief" and the younger one "Hit".
One day, as "Thief" stepped out, his father remembered something and wanted to call him back. Chasing after him, the father shouted, "Thief! Thief!" Passing officers heard the cries, captured "Thief", and tied him up.
Flustered, the father meant to call "Hit" for help. In his panic, he could only shout, "Hit! Hit!" Hearing this, the officers began to punch "Thief" severely. Had the father not rushed over to explain, the officers might have nearly killed "Thief".
